abstract = "The motion of a test particle in planetary orbit around a central
massive body is analyzed according to a novel, extended
formulation of gravitoelectromagnetism. In particular, this
extended form is used to calculate the correct anomalous
precession of the perihelion of Mercury in Solar orbit as
predicted by general relativity. The perihelion shift results from
a balance between the gravitoelectric and gravitomagnetic
forces.",
